Professions help
#4
I tried out mining+smithing on my mage initially but then switched to herbalism+alchemist after some thought.

One of main things things that made me switch was because I realised that mining raises the Insight trait (which increases accuracy and avoidability) whereas herbalism increases the Empathy trait (which increases max MP and Quest %). Questing is the main way I play Maple and the % bonus from increasing Empathy is handy, and as a mage I didn't really need accuracy and avoidability. Furthermore, I realised that clean equips weren't that expensive to get from Free Market or through a bit of grinding monsters for it. I also use a lot of potions so I ended up switching to alchemy to make my own potions.

If you still want to go with mining, I would recommend taking up accessory making probably instead of smithing. Accessories seem to sell for a decent amount of money, but I don't know how difficult it might be.
