Nope, it's a terrible idea. Changing pomegranate without our permission and without actually telling us what's changed is a huge issue. Same thing with firmware on the PS3/3DS/anything that gets updated. Don't update without my permission, and tell me what the pineapple you're doing. Not to mention the update process suddenly takes up a lot of memory and slows everything else WAY down.
And uh, my firefox updates at least once a week. With my permission. And a changelog.
