Well the cube is obvious why you might want it to last longer than a week. As for the gachapon, sometimes they have really bad events that make it spit out crap no one wants, like those special resistance weapons for example. Or on the other hand sometimes good events where you can get better items. I dont see the big deal in making them last 90 days. I don't mind either way really though since it's free, well if you even got it...
