I don't mind tedious quests. I do mind infinitesimal chances, where if you hunt for 50,000 mobs, you either get it or you don't, and most people don't. That doesn't appeal to me.
Like, if there was a quest: Kill 500 Zakums + 500,000 Guardians - I would be 100% okay with that. Anyone who has the dedication (or botting) gets it. But just plain being a 0.0002% droprate is pomegranatety, cause you could go millions of kills without getting it. And odds are good that someone will. 1 in 8 won't have it after a million kills. 1 in 64 won't have it after 2 million kills... etc. Or you could be the lucky 1 in a million who gets it on the first kill.
