Creating sound tracks for video games, especially high-quality sound tracks, isn't exactly cheap, so they would be putting more money into it than they probably would have made through sales, especially considering the advertisement and whatnot.
Are you seriously implying that ocarina of time won't make more money than it would cost to orchestrate the music? In addition to what they already paid, obviously. There is absolutely no answer to this other than laughing.
In case you didn't hear, 20% of uk 3DS owners have already bought the game. 3 days after its release. If even that number goes for the rest of the world, it's already the bestseller for the console. within 3 days of its release. Yeah.
Quote:There are songs in Ocarina of Time that would have turned out horrible if they tried to "make it better" and I'm pretty sure they knew it. Prime example : Sheik's ThemeDo you understand what orchestrated means? In terms of videogames, it means rather than having sounds represented as best they could (in this case by a 13 year old sound chip or whatever the heck the n64 used), they would be having a person play it on a real instrument and record it. Yes, granted shieks theme being only a recording vs the sound chip wouldn't have much difference, because it only took one instrument to make it in the first place, it would still sound better making full use of the technology in the 3ds now vs 13 year old hardware.
Quote:It was way more cost-effective to keep the original sound track while keeping the original feel to the game than to pay a music composer to create orchestrated versions of it. They still had Skyward Sword to spend that time and money on, so a remake like Ocarina of Time just wasn't exactly worth the trouble.
No. Just no. When your argument boils down to "its more cost effective". They should just never bother adding new music to any game they ever make again, right? They have tons of music they could be using in all future zelda (and mario and metroid, so on...) games. Does that mean they should?
Like hell it does.
Quote:They fixed the issue at the Forest Stage (deku scrubs) where if you wore the Mask of Truth post-pulling the master sword they'd fail to give you the Deku Seed upgrade.I thought it was actually doing part of the biggorons sword trading quest that did it (getting the saw?). Either way, yes, they fixed it.
Quote:Also, it wasn't even Nintendo who did the update. It was GEZZA. Like the Sly collection was done by Sanzaru Games. They have to report to the original company but it's mostly working on their own.Grezzo. And they codeveloped it with nintendo. There are plenty of nintendo employees in both sets of credits at the end of the game.
