Um, that's because Zelda has always been about dungeons and puzzles, not story. Even from the first Zelda you just go around trying not to get lost, finding dungeons, completing the puzzles, beating bosses, beating the game. One of the only games that actually had story was Majora's Mask.
I've played Zelda games since I was a little kid, putting in hours into them, completing them 100%, etc, because they're just really fun dungeon-crawling puzzlers. In my opinion there has never been a real ''adventure'' game ever created for any console, handheld, etc. ''Adventure'' games are called MMOs.
