Who's talking about the lightbulb specific function? There is no specific function of the lightbulb, it has ONE sole function: When triggered, appear. That's all it does.
The fact that it would not go away was due to people's inability to SATISFY the condition for it to go away: Accepting the quest.
The reason people could not accept the quest was because of the 7th Day Market.
It was horrible. It had little usefulness. It had to:
A: Be fixed,
B: Go away. Period.
