I don't believe in this at all. I believe it's a gimmick in order to put more traffic in churches, back when it was instituted, to join the church for their jail out of free card. I really find it hard to believe, rather irrational that I'll spend the rest of the life in hell being burnt a live over and over again for stealing a pack of gum. Punishment I would figure would be in proportion to your "sin".
On that note, eternity is a longggg time. So wouldn't every imaginable torture in hell either get old, or our body get used to the pain. I mean pain is a warning to our brain that it's in trouble, it hurt's, its dangerous. Well you're already dead, you know this being ripped alive constantly like it was part of your breakfast. By that point I'd think your brain would be immuned to the nervs signals.
