I know this might be a derailment of sorts, and by today's definition could be considered fanfiction, but has anyone else here read Paradise Lost? I've gotten as far as when Adam starts to talk to an angel (name escapes me, as well as where the book is; got lost amongst several moves), and I recall Adam having a pretty deep curiosity towards his fate and place in the world.
The only reason I bring this up is I've seen the phrase "meat robot/human robot" said a few times. Why do we assume that from the story of Genesis that that's all humans were, just mindless drones meandering about in paradise, til Eve get's herself seduced by Satan and convinces Adam to eat the apple from the tree of knowledge of good and evil after she herself ate from it? If it's that that's how they are presented in the bible then that's fine, but even so they are still human.

Look at how many different iterations, translations, versions, and perversions there are to the bible; and yes that there are more than one abrahamic religions.
