Your entire post can be boiled down into "if God isn't actually all knowing" and "this is what God actually meant"

If it takes a rocket scientist to decrypt God's word then it doesn't really do much good to people who lived thousands of years ago who didn't even know the world was round. These same people who didn't know the world was round also wrote the Bible. Take that for what you will.

So how do we determine what actually happened in the Bible and what didn't happen?
Does this just go back to the fall back argument of "don't take the Bible literally"?
and if we don't take the bible literally what do we take it for? fiction?
and if we take it for fiction, what good is it for anything other than entertainment and a few lessons?
