Depends what 'era' of maple you want to go with... I think i'll pick the one i enjoyed the most, being 2006~ 7
Assassins = Slains, scarabs and tobis/steelys - two of the main weapons you'd be holding onto would be either your slain or if you could get one, a scarab. Tobis were your main stars since they were still more common, but you'd try and getting steelys.
Bowman = Asianic and hinkles - not much more to add, it was pretty much your 'end game' weapon at the time seeing as though there was nothing better
Xbowman = Gross Jaeger - the xbowman was a rare sight, and even more so, was the gross jaeger. Dropped by what was meant to be quite the lethal monster back then, the dark yeti and pepe... people never really went for them because well ... they usually got owned unless you had an ice mage with you.
Mages/clerics = Evil Wings - this was the epic staff to wield, it had no equal. Not only was it good looking, it was the best weapon at the time... falling short of this was Thorns. Ice mages would hunt for hours on end at warewolves just to try and find one, although they were a hard find.
Bandits = Deadly fin/Geta - Gee, name changed i dont know why, but this was what you'd expect to see on a bandit, a weirdly shaped dagger there really was no doubt this thing was made for slicing and dicing the way a bandit should be.
Fighters/Pages = SPAAAAARTAAAA (the 2h level 60 one, not the 1h level 100 one) - This was the main weapon of choice for a long time. Not much else to add here
Fighters/Pages (2) = Doombringer - This was a symbol of .... holy crap, high level warrior!!@@!!. Representing strength and getting one of the hardest classes to level up to a high level.
Spearman = Red curve/serpants tonge - Not the highest leveled of weapons, but the shape of it was something of its own, not to mention spearman were a harder class to level, so there were a lot more people with these around.
Spearman (2) = The gold dragon - Like the doombringer ... it was the pride of a class, representing power and all that junk i said before
I know these dont really count since its not a weapon but i thought its worth mentioning
who could forget a (scanian?) great;
Common = Crystal flower earrings - I really dont know the logic behind this, but these earrings were worth a fortune back in the day. Was it uuuh... 70m? from what i remember. Coming from a fairly hard monster to kill, the Dark yetis, they were a hard find and had the price tag to match.
just to throw one more in there
Common = Gaia capes - There was only one way to get one of these at the time... and that was by completing a long line of quests at the end of which you'd be stuck with some random color. Great thing back then was trying to swap someone colors with them, was pretty difficult because everyone wanted either black, or white and sometimes red.
and lastly
Thiefs = Dark ID - Man ... these were your end game head gear right there. A rare drop from Yetis, everyone wanted a dark id, but a lot settled for the more common silver and bronze ids.
