That's a pretty good Desktop that your friend pointed out. I'm not too sure how the Nvidia 240 holds up - haven't really looked at those too much. You'd definitely get more CPU power through the AMD quad core though.

If you're not looking for mobility, then I'd probably go with the desktop personally.
