Amazing things are possible

Exceedingly interesting thread and blogs, but I think it's important to note that this $1 a day mission isn't exactly possible for every person in the world. Billions don't have access to computers or Sunday papers for coupons, much less stores that would accept them in the first place. On top of that, the amount of time it takes each day to follow a plan like this in order to save every last penny via coupons and specials is beyond what many working families can put in to grocery shopping. Still, as with any publication of the extremes, the average consumer can learn something from this experiment. There's something to be said about the power of coupons, the power of bargain hunting, the power of Catalina's, etc., and so while we may not all be able to live on $1, we certainly can budget our food dollars better, without forsaking our health.
