Hard drive, or the laptop?

So I'm fairly sure that this was caused by a malfunctioning fan, and all the problems seem to add up to that.

Random shut downs when computer on could be caused by processor overheating
Motherboard damage could explain why the computer would never really start up
HD damage explains the BSOD on start up and inaccesability to any sort of repair

So I'm shipping my laptop down to Texas to get (hopefully) repaired.
