It only seems like there is no cost and therefore no "punishment". But the fact is that once you get a warning, you are increasing the possibility of getting an infraction for the same violation. Hence if you believe that a "warning" is wrong, then you should still dispute it. Even though a direct punishment hasn't been administered yet, you've still been told that you've broken a rule when you receive that infraction. If you don't believe that you've broken that rule in the post, then you should contest it because your interpretation of the rules is being challenged. Not bothering to explain yourself or trying to discuss it with a moderator will only leave you open to repeating the same "mistake". Especially since that "mistake" may have been a "misinterpretation" of the rules. To only care about things when you get slammed on or get personally involved is an exercise that you may deeply regret in the future.
