I am the fourth youngest person in my grade, but I am also the tallest at 6' 5" and growing. I think that I am smarter than most people, and I believe this is what lets me succeed. I believe that intelligence is not in genetics, but in the ability of a human to strive for success. You fail school because you don't care, not because you are stupid. I fear going to college, graduating, then not having a job. I wonder about the possibility of heart failure, and the stress my height puts on my body.
I have always struggled with my weight. I feel uncomfortable constantly. I think all clothes look ugly on me. This is a growing concern and I have been actively working out and dieting. My self-esteem is constantly being destroyed by all my friends and peers. No one has ever been truly nice to me. I have lots of "friends" but not one of them actually cares about me.
I struggle with emotion. Three of my grandparents died in one year, back when I was 6. I was scolded and made fun of by family for crying, since I was a boy. Ever since then I bottle every little emotion up. This leads to the occasional bursting out in tears over the littlest events that cause me harm. Lots of girls like me, yet I don't like any of them. No one understands my point of view on life, and neglects to listen to my opinion.
I am strongly opposed to public schooling. We should have the choice to go to school where we want, and learn under the standards of the school we choose. I wish that the government didn't take tax money to waste it on students that have no interest in what is being shoved down their throats. If we were given a choice, society would be much better. Paying for a service creates an invested party, and you will work harder to prove your worth and make your investment worthwhile.
Atlas Shrugged changed my philosophical outlook. I no longer believe in God, even though I fake it pretty good. Well, I believe in Him, but I don't think The Holy Bible portrays what Catholicism is about. I take religion into my own hands, and let my preset morals guide me in life. The reason man exists is to make money. I cannot preach that enough. There is no way to exist without a monetary income. We live to get educated, find a job, and die.
I am a Republican bordering on Libertarian mindsets. The government should not have a say in our personal affairs. States should have more power than the Federal government, and regulations should be state-sided. Although welfare is nice, it is a gigantic waste of money. If you cannot support yourself, then you die. It is not my responsibility to buy you food while you sit at home and sleep all day.
I want to go Pennsylvania State University in the Advanced Pre-Medical Program. My ACT scores are not high enough for consideration, so I am retaking it. I have not prepared and do not expect to bring my score up. In reality I will have to stay close to home and attend the University of Michigan. I want to leave this state and my family behind, but it will not be happening soon.
I would much rather be a musician, but Neurology will net me more money and give me a better outlook on life. I want to cure Multiple Sclerosis and insure that my mom is able to walk again. I play the oboe, and I play it wrong. My sound quality is much greater than everyone else in the county, yet I cannot articulate properly. This is a problem with me that will never be fixed. Technique and Tone do not get you anywhere if you cannot properly articulate, which is a basic concept. I understand rhythms better than everyone in my high school, yet no one pays attention to me, and gets them wrong. I am the Drum Major next year, and I do not know if I will be able to lead the band.
I am going to be a Senior next year, and I am Vice-President of NHS, but will do the work of the President without the credit. I am also the President of our Class, but I will be pushed down to Vice-President most likely, because my friend is the other Co-President, doesn't do the work, and wants to claim all the credit. I enjoy taking control of people and telling them what is best. I give advice freely and willingly, but people don't listen and get into trouble. I think about others before myself, but usually manipulate my advice into something that will benefit both of us.
I am Valedictorian of our school, and probably the person with the best GPA ever to graduate. The school district I attend does not care about academics. We have a Top Ten, but refuse to number the ranks, or recognize any sort of Valedictorian.
I hate science, and love philosophy. Science is more practical, yet philosophy can be opinionized and expanded upon. Math is hard for me, but I somehow get by. Everyone depends on me, yet I depend on no one. The girl I like truly likes me, yet will not date me.
I fear failure in life and plan to do what it takes to set myself apart from everyone else. I am a hard-worker, a horrible athlete, a great mind, and kind heart. Life is easy to me, but I fear society is not.
