its stories that make me sad that people are so driven by greed. i like the thing with australia where people that win a lottery can opt to remain anonymous, but i'd like to see people be more responsible with their winnings. you always hear someone say "they were just helping out their family with debts, then everything went awry." if its not a gold-digging wife/girlfriend, its a greedy parent/sibling/relative of some other sort that resorts to crime to get more money from the person. Its times like this where a little amount of greed goes a long way; had they never given their money out or even let it known they won X amount of money, then none of these issues would ever arise.
but who thinks rationally when they're gonfronted with a sudden amount of wealth? >_>
