NX is just a in game currency that can be easily converted to mesos...and 2k nx can be easily earned in game so how is this against the principle of free to play??
Because, as Stereo said, many people don't just have 20m lying around to convert to NX to get the skill. Besides, at this point the skill is glitched (or so I hear) so that after the mastery the book is in, you can't add any more points into it. And telling Nexon that you're doing it wrong, you'll make more money this way will still get the thread locked. They don't like pretty much any threads that says anything that contradicts what they're doing.
People should not have to pay 20m for a low level skill like this, especially since it's so important. mages are pretty much unplayable in the third job and up without magic gaurd.
I can understand KMS putting Dual Blade skill books in the cash shop. First off, you can get Dual Blader's skills from monsters outside of the CS. Second, they actually have some money issues, which is why the new characters all have seperate storages. Most CS equips in KMS are permanent, so if people can switch their equips from character to character they don't make any money. Dual Blades were made because KMS probably was having financial troubles.
Nexon America, on the other hand, had no reason to do this with Evans. Even KMS made it possible to get Dual Blade skill books outside of the cash shop. But Nexon America wasn't having any monetary issues. They've been making plenty of money. I'm not saying that it's wrong of them to try to make more, but it is wrong of them to go against one of the basic tennants of the game at its conception just to make more money.
Edit: I just read Hime's post in Nexon's forums. She said that there is no way to get the skill books outside of the cash shop, but there will be in the near future. And after she posted that, there are three or four responses thanking her for her honesty, but then saying they'll probably quit maple because of it. So hey, Nexon's newest idea is killing their fanbase.
