people who logged ticket about chaos scroll ban

The best thing that could have happened would be the following:

• Hackers get perm + ip-banned, and all their related accounts that gains an advantage through this gets perm as well.
  
• IPs and/or accounts that have logged onto the game the in last 14 days (or 10, or something) and have within that time-period gained more than 5 chaos scrolls gets a temporarily ban and loses all the chaos scrolls they gained.
  
• IPs that have not met any of the previous requirement lose the chaos scrolls they've gained within the period, and get refunded through either NX or mesos, both at a reasonable amount.
  

I agree with this mostly.

I can't possibly argue that the people who were involved with this are totally innocent, but I do think a permanent ban is too extreme a punishment, especially since most of the people I know that got banned weren't buying with the intent to resell. This is far and away the most extreme punishment they've had for any kind of in-game abuse. I don't have a direct problem with Nexon wanting to take their punishment up a few notches, but going into the nearest county jail and shooting everyone who committed a felony isn't the way to go about it. Besides, it's not like a ban would even stop the people who did the whole thing to begin with.
