What are your views on marriages? Are you planning on being married?
#24
1) Your age?
19
2) Do you plan on getting married?
No.
3) Are you going to have any sort of cohabitation?
I would hate living with anyone for a time period of more than a few days. I enjoy my alone time, so no.
4) Do you think cohabitation helps to avoid divorces, or increase the chances of divorce? Explain why.
The studies indicating otherwise surprised me, but as another person said, correlation does not necessarily equal causation. Having said that, I would think living with someone before marriage would certainly help to avoid divorce. It's like a test drive; people act differently when they get comfortable around other people, and living with someone for a while is a good way of learning their odd quirks before signing any papers.
5) Do you think love is essential for marriage? Explain why.
I really don't think it is. I've met plenty of people who married for odd financial reasons, and they're still together. They're still married; that's what I want to put emphasis on. I don't watch them constantly to see whether or not their marriages are good marriages, but they haven't divorced. That said, a certain amount of respect from both partners would be necessary.
6) Do you plan on having children? If so, why, and how many?
God, no. If anything, I'll consider adoption, but the chances of that are so low that I don't even know why I'm throwing it in here at all.
