They only explode when they have less than 50% of their hp but are still alive. Couldn't you attack pianus normally and hug the body when bombs spawn, destroy them, and get off the body to continue attacking? Also you have free safety charms now, so I don't see the harm in experimenting around. Bomb explosion range isn't too long, I think. If triple swing has longer horizontal range than double swing, why not try swinging at air and finishing them with the over 10k damage on triple swing.
