So after doing some quick math, I've realized that the average damage for 1H BW/Axe users Vs. 1H Sword users is almost exactly the same. With a 1H BW/Axe and a 1H Sword of the same attack power, the sword comes out on top with a meager 2% advantage.
Consider the cheapness of 1H BW/Axes and their scrolls, plus the ~2 att advantage of Axes and BWs over swords of the same level..
1H BW and Axe is definitely better, IMO.
2H weapons are a different story, sadly.
