Idk, about the Radiata stories comment about it not going the extra mile. Once you beat the game, you can go to a new dungeon place that opens up. Hella strong bosses in there, even Lenneth from Valkyrie Profile, as well as some others from Square games i think (havnt touched it in a while cause the boss im on atm is balls breaking hard).
Obvious additions to this list is Final Fantasy X, because its among the best FF games (looking and a pretty good story). FF X-2 is good also for a refresh after FF X. Id also suggest FF XII, but it can get tiring compared to other FF games (active battle system is annoying to me).
