As a NL I can either jump over an attack (works if the attack is a projectile or area-based), tank it with avoid (guaranteed to fail at least 5% of the time), stay out of range (easy with physical attacks, a bit more difficult with PB's big bang) or glue it down with Shadow Web (cancelled as soon as I attack again).

Or I can have enough HP, and just use a pot when I get hit. Works on every attack, requires very little skill, and just means I have less luk. At this point, 20 luk is a matter of 3% difference in damage. That's definitely not big enough to affect whether I can kill something or not. But when it's the difference from 3800 to 4100 hp, and the monster does 3900-4000, it's giving me a massive boost in survivability.

I guess I just don't see why "add more HP" is not a valid way to avoid getting killed, while jumping around, casting ice/stun attacks etc. is acceptable. You probably lose more damage by using Blizzard at Oblivion maps to avoid taking magic damage than you would by dumping points into HP and tanking everything. But if you don't get the HP, you're stuck keeping everything frozen unless you don't want to train there until high 15x or something.

I'm not saying you shouldn't add more HP under the current system. I'm not trying to force anyone to do anything (not like I'd be able to anyway). I'm saying that I think the system should be changed.

As long as they let you add points to HP, go for it. I would be happy if they didn't though.
