I open doors for people, and offer to help them if people seem to be struggling. A lady with a trolley trying to leave the bathroom, I opened the door for her and she gave me the biggest deathstare.. So It isn't always welcome but, it's not a crime to open a door for anyone, and its certainly not a crime to give people a hand now and again.
I am a girl soo I'll reply to the female question as well.. I don't mind too much, It's nice but it's not always necessary, since sometimes I start to feel underminded and useless.
I guess thats what happens when you be too nice too often people take it as an insult and think you're insulting their intelligence and self-responsibility/reliability.
