I have went through a situation like this. I felt inadequate and unloved, and lashed out against the world. I purposely failed school, ditched all the time, ran away from home, and attempted to commit suicide numerous times. But what got me through it all is knowing it is what I think about myself, not others. I figured this out because I eventually got sent to a residential treatment center for 10 months. Truthfully, the therapists did little to nothing to help me; the counselors were no better. It just gave me lots and lots of time to think. And what I concluded is that I can have a good life even if I do not get all that I want. I realized that the best love to have is love for yourself. If you don't love yourself then how could you ever see that others love you? How can you get what you want if you are ashamed of yourself. So after ten months I went back to my home and I have yet to get in trouble, fail a class, ditch school, do things to impress my friends, or really seek out a relationship that really shouldn't be. Sure, I am not even close to being better because I still have a strong mental addiction to Maple Story. I literally had withdrawals when I was sent away to treatment, and that is embarrassing. However, I'm making my progress and life's great. So quit feeling so bad about yourself and love yourself. When you do you'll feel a lot better and your life will go a lot more smooth and you will probably make more friends, girls included, and receive (and notice) the affection you wanted from the very beginning.
