If you're looking for the "main" version, try http://www.google.us.
Also try doing the following on a command prompt:
nslookup http://www.google.com
nslookup http://www.google.us
If http://www.google.com resolves to different IP's than http://www.google.us, that means your ISP is doing it at the DNS level and there's nothing your web browser can do about it.
