How is 2x and teleport equal to abuse? It is called an improvement in gameplay. The only reason Nexon is changing it is because they lose profit from teleport rocks and 2x cards. Not because of any of your bullpomegranate reasons.
The stated purpose of the family system was for Maplers to band together and benefit from each other - Not for players to create rep mules that generate abnormal levels of rep that they may they use to gain benefits over players who are using the system in was it's normal, intended fashion - Remaining in a stable family unit together for extended periods.
By Nexon's standards it was abuse of a feature to create masses of easily leveled newbies, chain them together to create an infinite supply of rep and then bring them into high level parties and sell their services.
Rather than punish everyone for it, they made the process itself prohibitive so that it encourages the usage they intended/desired, not what it had been coopted to become.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.
