CORNY SMEGAS. DON'T CARE I WAS TOO SLEEPY TO DIFFERENTIATE THE LEGENDARY TITLE FROM THE VETERAN TITLE. GETTING THE PERMANENT MEDAL AND TITLE WAS ALL I CARE ABOUT.
Teh boring background story:
Spoiler
I can not thank MasPan enough for his dear help ~3-4 days ago when in one night we slayed 7.5k monsters, and for my cousin for finishing up the final 2k monsters. Other than those two instances of help, I soloed the rest of the 90,500 monsters, because soloing means Time Pieces.
In the beginning, I did not take the challenge seriously (~2-3% a day); I was already handicapped badly when I grinded with gear I've been using since ~level 120ish because I didn't feel like upgrading (lacking a good 10-15+ attack) what I thought was adequate equipment. By the time the challenge was half over I realized how tough it really was. Started playing more to make up for not always gaining 3.3% a day (I was at around 36% instead of ~50%). I came too far to redo the quest, and I had no time to kill so many monsters during the school year.
You had no idea how distressed the final few days (despite uberly grinding I kept getting interrupted by real life) I was when I had to somehow gain 22% in 3 days, not including the day the quest ends (gives more breathing room). That type of grinding would have been impossible for me without seriously burning myself out and hating Maple. Then MasPan came along one night, and with his mighty -4 speed Crimson Arcglaive, we annihilated Oblivion Guardians are a speed I was not even thought existed. Long story short, the 7.5k Oblivion Guardians slayed in those ~3ish hours boosted me up to Only needing ~15k monsters in 3 days. Very doable.
Final 12 hours, my cousin came on when I decided to burn the midnight oil (up until ~4-5 AM in the morning, where supposedly I'd be done), and offered to help on my final 2.5k. Being a 173 BM, the Oblivion Guardians fell like dominoes. The pictures pretty much explains the outcome. Ended quest at ~3 AM instead.
My first medal is the hardest obtainable permanent medal, and I am happy for it. Now for sleep.
I want to seriously thank MasPan, for quite literally saving my ass from utter failure when I was so close to my goal of 100k monsters. Polearm Dark Knights with Speed Infusion aren't godly; they're demonic!
