Interview: Nexon Talks MapleStory DS, Microtransaction Saturation
#8
DS is old news. You can't come out with a DS version of a dieing game, especially if it's not as cool as the online version.

As for Kart Rider-

It is a big game in Korea, and lost money in the US.

Launching a game a second time won't make it any better. And even if it did, it is still too soon.

All I can say is-

MapleStory with the help of Mabinogi, are the only games Nexon has going for them. They will die off eventually. Pretty soon actually, and then Nexon will call it quits, or start publishing "pay to play" games.

If Kart Rider didn't make it in the US, Dungeon Fighter definitely won't.

And Combat Arms has too much competition... It's too hard to make a successful Online FPS these days without uniqueness. And Nut Shots won't do it.

Review of MapleStory DS and Mabinogi for XBOX 360.
========================================

I have seen videos of the Korean MapleStory DS, and all I can say is, it doesn't look anywhere close to as good as the online game.

This does in fact seem like it will bring more users to the online version though. Which may give MapleStory Online a couple more years.

The sequel is never as good as the first. And some games just belong on one system.

Take Animal Crossing for instance...

Animal Crossing started out on the Gamecube, and a couple of years later, came out for the DS.
A bunch of new features, but just didn't cut it for me. I barely played it at all.
Then they came out with Animal Crossing for the Wii, which I didn't play as much as the first, but more then the second.

All I can say for Mabinogi for the XBOX 360 is-
They better come out with this game fast, but at the right time.

They have plans for a future system, and new games are coming out for XBOX 360.

If it is going to take as long as MapleStory DS, which still isn't even available in the US, it won't be successful.

If they release it too soon, they might also lose money depending on what games are coming out at the time. *Haven't seen a good consel game in a while*
