"God" is benevolent, forgiving and good. Not for every Christian, but for Christianity in general. That goes for Jews too.
"Allah" promises you 72 virgins for blowing up a plane. Not for every Muslim or even most Muslims, but there's way too many of them that DO believe that. A LOT of them support this position though maybe they are not terrorists themselves. Enough that there is pretty wide consensus that Islam is NOT the "Religion of Peace."
These two positions cannot be reconciled, hence the tremendous mess between Judeo-Christianity and Islam as we are seeing now.
By the way, our differences aside, you being a Western-thinking homosexual, they would EXECUTE you if anyone found out you were gay, probably in a public manner, such as a beheading, which would then be broadcasted to the whole region via Al Jazeera TV.
