Here's what happened and I'm 90% sure.
You got dc'd then it wouldn't let you log on bc the server still thought you were on. Happens alot. Just have to give it a bit of time to catch up.
At this point considering the encounter with the hacker you got concerned about your account like most people would and quickly changed your password. You tried to copy paste this password and it won't let you do that and it further worried you. When u didnt copy paste your new password you logged on without a problem.
