How do I update all the codecs?

I went and tried an episode but I couldn't really see any difference between what I had and this. Maybe it's my eyes...

I checked and everything seems fine. The main thing would be getting updated to CoreAVC for superiority reasons. Unless I missed something? What's outdated?
