As I said, you primed the answer. Had you left it simple yes or no, then perhaps you might have gotten more people voting for the answer that you hypothesis would be the majority answer.
There are several reasons I say that this poll is biased.
First, by voting first for "wtpOMGBBQ hell no! Disgusting Americans", you provided a default choice, which would cause the first few people (if they are indecisive) to vote it (until it balances to 50% in which the default choice would desolve), simply because you provided an example. This part is due to groupthink. For this thread, it may not affect the poll as much, as not as many people voted, but the bias is indeed present.
Add that to the fact that you made the answer like advertising than the casual "Uh...who doesn't?", these biases that you introduce could really changed the results of the statistics. I hypothesize that if you post this somewhere else and left it simple yes and no, you'd see some different statistics than what you see now.
Wherever there is intervention in the question, you have to be careful of the wording, as almost always bias would be introduced. You supported the second choice, which is not peeing in the shower, so in the attempt of making both of them interesting, you made the one that you believed in more interesting.
Also, it wouldn't be labeled as a random question had your thread differently. People don't have the time reading all the topics. They would judge the post based on its title. It doesn't make the results more random, but it makes it more representative of the population that you are testing, which is southperry. By posting random, you're conveying the message that this thread isn't important, thus catching less people in your poll. More votes means more reliable answers; I'm sure you can agree with this part.
For a question like this, which doesn't require much thought and only offers two options, it may not change the answers. Nonetheless, it introduces a bias that wouldn't be there otherwise.
Either your recovery time after the resolution is incredibly short, or you take very long showers. Most people need at least half a day to recover from each set of sperm that is ejaculated. O_o
Oh wow, I can see why you're the king of arguers =). Can't really argue with each individual point...some of the points, you take it, but here's the rest summed up.
1. As I said, I had no intention of making one of the poll choices more "interesting" than the other. It was pure coincidence. Okay, you could argue that it might be my subconscious, but really, I didn't think about the consequences...and about that.
2. Because this is a random question, the statistics...don't need to be that accurate. Really, all I'm trying to see in this thread (and in the future!) are what are the results.
I'm not trying to see an extremely accurate number. That's kind of useless in random questions that have no purpose in life.
The way the polls are going it's obvious, even with the potential chance that some people be converted to do the "bias," it's going to be a 50/50 split.
Plus...I'm interested in what some people (certain individuals) vote for in these random questions. Heh.
Last, the title? I disagree with Random not attracting a lot of people. Already, this thread has more views than 2/3 of the threads on the front page in The Speakasy.
