A Message from a Guildie

First of all, suffering is a natural part of life. Overpopulation is a natural process on the earth, and that shouldn't be limited to the dogs on Puerto Rico. The dogs "starving, diseased, and murdered" is just propoganda. In reality, it's merely another way of stating that they're competing with one another to survive in the area, which is essentially just natural selection at work. Overpopulation will occur especially when people are enhancing their survival by aiding them, feeding them and sheltering them.

At the animal shelter (no-kill, of course) where I volunteer, we normally spay or neuter every stray we take in. Many (but certainly not enough) of the animals are found new homes.

I don't believe those dogs should be left for dead; I just wish that the Puerto Rican government could put aside some money in order to build shelters like the aforementioned.
