Because the developers are assholes. Kut-Ku, Garuga, Basarios, Kirin, and a few others are only available in the Everwood as GQ's if you want to fight them normally. It's stupid. It's part of the reason I hate the entire concept of it.
Plus Kirin is a dumb monster. It's not fun to fight at all.
