Speaking of the whole 'damsel in distress' topic, is that even really a prevalent thing anymore? Even in games like Hyrule Warriors (where over half the cast is female), Final Fantasy XII, and Super Mario 3D World, the women are pretty significant and prominent protagonists.

They'll just move over to misogyny then- oops, they already did that. They're absolutely ridiculous at justifying it too because a game where you can kill men and women is very different from a game that explicitly endorses the act of killing women.
