We don't have a good measure of skill level yet. I don't think that should rule out using double elimination though. There's nothing inherently wrong with blind draw IMO.
I think because there is no measure of skill that we should consider determining that first, and then start with double elimination bracket. Both can be done in the same tournament. But anyway, just wanted to share my thoughts and it doesn't really matter to me how the tournament is run. Good for you for taking the initiative though!
