I'm planning to do my Zak Pre-quests soon. (not for zhelm buying... yet 
) But this is the only thing in my way. They don't appear to be a thing you can jump over, and the last Cave of Trial has a flat area with the Bains walking over it, and no platforms over it.
Oh, and Dead Mine Scrolls don't solve this, obviously.
