To play devil's advocate for a moment, let us assume Holypie is the godfather or similarly protected mafioso.
He claims cop to try to push lynching me. Since I was acting fairly scummy, he can simply claim that he hadn't actually investigated me and it was all a big mistake.
His Voltorb claim works as the perfect explanation for this. His ability is one time only so it can't be disproven by any powers except something that detects even passive abilities which is pretty rare. It explains away why he falsely claimed cop and gives the town incentive for not killing him.
I don't actually think he's mafia based on the way he's playing, but it would be a masterful disguise if he were.
