It's not unlikely at all, it's inevitable. It's going to happen. They removed shops which means only new people can't participate in the dupe. That doesn't stop people that already have shops from using it and/or selling items which they got through the dupe.
Not to mention it was already heavily used and exploited before the shop removal. You can find thousands of duped items in dozens of stores on just about every server.
