My understanding is that in order for the attacker to gain the full amount of party play EXP, the AFKers will have to be leech level, or if you are not high enough level for a 40-level gap, have 4 AFKers within leech level + 1 person 40 levels below your own, and then you will gain 4 members worth of party play and lose 1, since the lower level will not be able to gain party play EXP yet.
I sort of did this by accident, tried leeching my Bishop at Hall of Honour with a party of leechers + my level 170 Kanna and after 5 minutes of attacking one of the leechers asked why he wasn't getting any experience. Oops.

Wait so to clarify:

If you have one person 40 levels or below, none of your party members get EXP except you (ie, the attacker)?
