Well, on halloween when I ordered pizza for my party (4 large or whatever), it was 2 hours late because they were overwhelmed. Of course they didn't TELL me this, but I overheard over the phone that they forgot my order. I sent them an email, the MANAGER gave me a call back two days later to apologize and would repeat my order at ANY time with everything being for FREE.
Communication and taking responsibility for mistakes are probably the biggest and most basic methods/requirements for a business to have a positive view by the public.
