And perhaps a rework of the potions restriction should have been done, like instead of completely disallowing potions, reducing their effectiveness by half each time they are used in a certain time period down to, idunno, 10%.
I'm sorry for the way I reacted. Every time anyone mentions how great RED is going to be, and how they can't wait for RED, and how they hope RED will come ASAP, I just freak out. This is an extremely drastic change, probably even moreso than Big Bang was, and it's all going to come at once. The Korean players got the luxury of having some influence on the changes, but that's a luxury we won't be afforded.
There are mobbing numbers there too. You can also extrapolate the unleashed 1v1 damage to mobs if you want because DrK's damage increases linearly until DI's cap as you add more mobs.
I'm actually not that excited or even cautious like you are about RED. It's a lot of changes but as a veteran maple player who's seen way too many of these kinds of patches, I'm almost positive it's going to lose its novelty and revert back to same old maplestory in a couple months. It happened with big bang, it happened with chaos, ascension, etc.
Like you mentioned in a previous post, they should not be buffing/nerfing classes so constantly to keep interest. Maplestory ran just fine for years without any balance changes. Even with class imbalances (there will always be very obvious class imbalances if they keep giving every class every advantage and almost no weaknesses), they need to release more universal content and drastically change the systems in place to make the game better, IMO.
To get back on topic though: my condolences. I didn't know you that well, but you were a friend of a friend and I talked to you a few times. Your case is just really, really unfortunate, and it really highlights the need for GMs that were actually long time/dedicated players to the game.
