Pokémon X and Pokémon Y

I dislike the idea of having 2 starters as well. It seems stupid to have all these new pokemon available to us, and then they throw extremely popular older pokemon at us right at the beginning. I can understand it's about nostalgia, but from a gameplay perspective, I dislike it.

Same with the Torchic distribution. Torchic with Speed Boost is overpowered. I'm going to get Fennekin or Froakie, and then throw the other 2 starters in the box until I complete the story.

Oh god, I forgot about torchic... This is kinda stupid, 3 starters... 2 with mega forms. If I don't like any of the new starters, I'll use one to get some pokemon (even rattata) and store them. I did that in B/W 1 & 2. I think that starters are waaay too OP stats wise and to be honest I rarely use them unless they are totodile's evolutionary line.
