Lol I have the same problem as you.
I usually do that on homework, once I figured out how to do it, I just stop doing it but it doesn't really matter cause teachers doesn't collect them. However the stupid thing is, I recently did that on a computer contest. Universities actually looks at what you do on a computer contest. The contests have 5 questions. I finished the 2 easy questions quite easily, and by that time my hands are sore (from typing for 5 mins), then I look at the 3rd question which is quite hard and stare at it for awhile then I finally figured out the algorithm behind it, but then I just don't feel like coding by then. So i moved on to the 4th question, figured out the algorithm but too lazy to code, moved to the 5th one, figured out the algorithm and then just don't feel like coding. ended up getting 2/5 on the contest...
and GL on the project you are working on <=haha this will encourage you to work XD
(I noticed recently that I'll only work when someone needs my work, I do my friends hwk more than my own hwk...)
