Do you expect a Masteria expansion?

You know, the great Sheloman Byrd (known as "NxProse"), who created most of the old Masteria, was just a GENIUS. He was able to write those adventurous and epic storylines that guy talked about, to design those interesting NPCs and amazingly / complexly structured maps, containing epic-looking, exciting new mobs. He did most by himself, since he was both a writer, a designer and had a huge creativity.

I don't even know how to say it. The Masteria content he provided GMS with was NEVER disappointing. He gave Masteria that intense feeling of mystery and adventure which no other area in the game could reproduce well enough. Not such an intense one, anyways.

I find it a shame it got ruined like that. WHY did Nexon America's team have to destroy Masteria in such a horrible way? Why did they have to ruin such a masterpiece by making plain boring maps (which anyone with a map-making software could develop) and replace the exciting old complex ones, including the deletion of an exciting and adventurous jump quest, which was a creative way to reach an epic place such as Crimsonwood Keep?

Destroyed NLC is depressing enough as is, so I had hoped for a REALLY GOOD storyline and overall a much higher content quality. Instead, maps were made in a very bad - and, apparently, rushed - way (map elements were re-used, the placing of which gave a completely out of place and uncreative look to them, etc.). Quests were TERRIBLE and completely not following Sheloman's first project: their "personalities" and ways of being, coming from the previous ones created with the amazing writing skills of NxProse, were changed in worse, making the whole Masteria lose its seriousness and epicness. For example, the first quest "Major of Disaster" of Destroyed NLC starts with Icebyrd Slimm telling you that the "town is going bananas" and other random unfunny jokes which only 5 year old kids would laugh at, right after a major earthquake destroying the town HE had built with no little trouble, according to previous quest text from that NPC. Then, the rest of the quests don't really fit his personality. But, afterall, Sheloman made Icebyrd Slimm look like him, and he wrote his text as well. After this Aliens update, it became way too obvious that he has left the company.

In any case, the whole Alien Invasion idea was completely uncalled for (especially after the relatively "recent" Unwelcome Visitor Event), and didn't follow the way Prose wanted Masteria to expand. You could've released an expansion to Bigger Ben, Vineland, Yetinx, Affluent Tower, Versal.. but no. You decided to destroy New Leaf City and ruin the design of an amazing piece of art...

Exactly what I think. It's simply disrespectful to NxProse and his work.

Now, what I'm asking for is: try to somehow bring back that amazing developer to your company or just make a contract or something to cooperate with him on Masteria (even just for ideas). He seems to really be the only person who could ever save that content, which, as Takebacker and many others have said, was one of the best updates of the entire game.

If you can't do that, nor can follow Prose's way of structuring Masteria, just bring back the old one and don't touch it again. It was perfect as it was, really.

I always enjoy reading your comments about Masteria. You clearly care about it very much.

I don't think it is fair to wish Prose to come back to Nexon. I believe he is enjoying his current job quite well. However, I don't think that he is the ONLY person that could lead Masteria development. According to Prose, the development team actually had a layout of future content for Masteria when he left. I don't think that Nexon is such a horrible company as to throw out those plans, so they should still have them. That means that if there is a creative leader in the team, he or she could take over the original Masteria plan development.

Of course, Nexon also has the resource of its fans to help out. I don't know about everybody here, but I for one would jump at the opportunity to suggest ideas for future content. Then there are all of the records of Masteria content that Isaac and others created. One look at Isaac's threads should give Nexon ideas for several updates.
