Number two, which is my actual thought on this: I don't know what to feel about this considering that MapleSEA is 90% likely to get what GMS gets as a global release. I hadn't even considered this a possibility despite how releases haven't been following KMS strictly as of late because changing something this big seems almost phenomenal and I had thought that the decline in people playing KMS had more to do with the lack of content than dissatisfaction with these changes.
