The increasing gap between players and bosses.

The gap is big,but that what motivate you to try to get yourself up to par in killing these bosses. Nexon has hand out many events to help people go up in damage e.g the hot time event with protection scrolls,free cubes, and other events. It isnt hard to merch anymore with all these events happening that can give an unfunded player an opportunity to improve. I've been unfunded for years until 1 year ago. Take advantage of the events thats all I got to say.
