Is it worth it to start fresh in GMS? (Also: Scania vs Bera vs ?)

Holy balls it's been a looong time since I made a post on SP. I, of course, apologize for being the 38957296th person to ask this same, stupid question. I've been gone so long though that I'm finding it difficult to locate enough information to form any sort of educated opinion.

The story so far:

I played in Bera back when the only choices were Scania & Bera. I have played a few different servers around their release times (Kradia, Yellonde, Galicia, Zenith) with friends, but of course after the new server rush, they were quite empty and there wasn't much to keep me there after they quit. My total time spent playing GMS has probably been under one year. Instead, I played JMS off and on for about two years, and KMS off and on for five or six (who knows anymore). I've felt like switching to GMS for ages, but I was just too lazy. Eventually, I quit KMS because of how small the world I play in is (that, and I lost all my stuff about a year prior). Seeing a trend, yet?

I figured, what better time to switch than now? I log onto my GMS account only to find that it's been banned (as well as compromised), which comes as no surprise given how long it's sat there. Whatever. I ain't mad about it.

So, here I am, at an impasse... should I, or should I not? I seek a high pop server, which I suppose means Scania or Bera. Specifically a higher nighttime population 'cause I live overseas now. Community more on the laid back side would be a plus. Thoughts, anyone?
